Baby Bullfrog.jpg

This is a baby bullfrog.  We captured a couple of these at Huff Park when they were little tadpoles and watched them grow in our fish tank.

Leaving Soon

Canada GooseWinter will soon be here in Michigan and these beautiful birds will fly south.  Sounds like a good idea to me!

Friendly Slug

Slug

This is a picture of a bright yellow-orange slug that we found while walking on a trail at Huff Park.  We take many trips to this paradise hidden in a quiet neighborhood!

Spot the Frog

Frog_003.jpg
See the frog?  This is from the Spring of 2006.  This little guy was discovered by Michaela, Carrie and Michelle in a potted onion Michelle was transplanting (we had an onion start sprouting green chutes in the pantry and decided to let it grow... turned out quite tasty).  They saved him and moved him to the back of the yard by our brush piles, where this picture was taken.

That red spot by his back leg is actually part of his underside markings.  All of the tree frogs we've seen around the house have had vibrant markings on their undersides or along their sides, normally hidden by the back legs.  This frog happens to be sitting just right so part of the markings are visible.
