That would be Michele and me. We married 37 years ago, on 12/18. On reflection, it was a very self-centered and naive choice. Her poor mother struggled with a Catholic portion of children (all younger than Michele), impending Christmas, unfair wife responsibilities (remember this was 37 years ago) and the confusions of marrying off a first born.
Michele was occupied with finishing a teaching curriculum in college and I was occupied with working in a Detroit machine shop and drinking beer. But we loved each other.
Our anniversaries have been low key. You can understand why. Christmas overwhelms our union, but of course it doesn't lessen it. What we have is private and special and usually represented by the exchange of meaningful cards.
Tonight, anniversary eve, Michele admitted that she hadn't gotten me a card this year. I reacted with expressive facial expressions, and she said, "So you haven't either!"
Actually, I have. Hee, hee, hee!

yeah softie......You made sure you had a card incase Michele hit you over the head with that salmon!
Oh I'm sorry I missed it! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
I love your attitude about your anniversary even though it is eclipsed by Christmas. At least being this close to a holiday makes it easier to remember the date, huh?
