Potpourri.JPG

  A potpourri-perfumed candle...neutralized beneath impermeable glass.

(Ladies, you citizens of Venus, please read and heed this missive.

You lads, sons of Mars, observe and learn what communication looks like.)

Re:  Potpourri

High Martian Translation of Potpourri:  GAD!  What is that smell?!

Low Martian Translation of Potpourri:   Pooh-porridge.

Women, please understand that potpourri is offensive to men.  While it smells lovely to you, it stinks to us.  It is especially offensive when we are eating.

Do you need proof?  Think of the times you've flipped through feminine magazines at the dining table.  Do you remember your male's reaction when you tore a pefume sampler from the magazine?  He paused chewing when he realized what you were about to commit, then his eyes went from relaxed, gluttonous slits to bulging orbs of alarm.  He shook his cheek-stuffed face back and forth negatively, unable to speak as he grunted, "Uh, huh!", meaning, 'NO! DON'T OPEN THAT MEAL-KILLING PERFUME SAMPLE!!'

But you opened it, and, after enjoying your brief exposure to a pleasant place, returned to the dining table where you saw a primitive Martian with a full mouth and upturned nostrils, glaring at you.

Here is a suggestion...no potpourri if there is a male in the house...unless you are intentionally sending a powerful message.

That's all from Mars for now.  Thank you, Venutians, for your kind attention.

Hi Don -- nice to meet you! I had to come and seek you out after your comment on my Blog -- LOL!!! YOUR wife is so much more understanding and considerate that my husband's wife -- LOL!!! Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!!! (I'm from Michigan, too -- the UP -- western end.)

Hi Sharon---Nice to meet you, too! Don showed me your site, and I asked him to save it to our Favorites, in order for me to leisurely take my time looking. It's beautiful! Thanks for finding us, and yes we do have Michigan in common, and a connection in the UP. Our daughter lives in Gladstone, with her family. We get up there maybe twice a year, and they make a trip down to see us. Have a relaxing evening, thanks again and keep stamping! Michele Beesley(sqwahr.com)
